About the Artist

Thuy is a mixed media artist based in New Orleans whose work explores texture, memory, emotion, transformation, and the beauty of things shaped by time.  Working intuitively across painting, sculpture, and found materials, she builds layered surfaces that invite both curiosity and closer examination.

Her work draws inspiration from the natural world, marine life, botanical forms, human experience, erosion, fragility, and the objects and remnants we carry with us.  Rather than following a single visual language, Thuy allows each piece to evolve through experimentation.  She combines plaster, paint, resin, metal, botanicals, shells, stones, glass, and other tactile materials to create surfaces that feel discovered rather than simply made.

Layers, fragments, imperfections, and unexpected details become part of the story.  A piece may suggest something familiar like a relic, a landscape, a specimen, or a memory while remaining open to personal interpretation.  The work often lives in the space between organic and constructed, delicate and enduring, beautiful and weathered.

Through Studio Lola, Thuy creates original artwork, sculptural objects, and small collections designed to bring depth, curiosity, and a sense of discovery into everyday spaces.  Her work exists somewhere between fine art, collected relic, and personal artifact; imperfect, tactile and deeply human.
